• Thursday, October 5th, is Picture Retake Day. ALL students who have NOT had their picture taken will need to do so this day so we can capture your photo for your Student ID and the yearbook. This is very important! You may also have your picture retaken this day if you wish to do so. Please wear your school uniform.

 

  • Are you interested in going to Italy and Greece? Please plan on attending an informational meeting with your parents October 10th at 7pm in the Hayden Cafeteria for more details. Any questions, see Mrs. Sutton. Hope to see you there.

 

  • Congratulations to Hayden Debaters Parker Ramirez, Charlie Roeder, Isabelle Pryor, Jack Dunshee, Thomas Doyle, and Brett Funk who debated to an overall 8-9 squad record at last weekend’s tournament at Olathe Northwest. An extra special congratulations to the “Railroad”  team Ramirez and Roeder who finished 3rd overall in the Open Division.

 

  • Congratulations to the eleven members of Hayden’s Chess team who competed at Christ the King’s tournament last weekend. Led by seniors Matt Moore and Jadyn Jay along with Laura Burnheide and Logan Rockers, Brandon Appelhanz,  William Sevvy, Ethan Cooper, Alec Ireland, Alejandro Calderon, Brady McGivern, and Stephen Moore finished 4th in the overall high school competition, just missing 3rd place by one point. An extra special congratulations to Brandon Appelhanz,  whose 3.5 points led all Hayden players.

 

  • FBLA will meet Wednesday morning, Oct. 4, at 7:20 am in room 102.  Please be prompt.  

 

  • Juniors, Hayden is giving the PSAT test on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.  There are a few openings if you would like to take the test to see if you qualify to become a National Merit Scholar or a commended National Merit scholar.  You need to sign up with Mrs. Blanchette along with a fee of $20.00.  Sophomores, you are able to take the test but it will only be a practice test for when you take it as a junior.

 

  • Hayden Boys Varsity took 3rd place as a team out of 13 teams at the Council Grove Invitational led by individual medal winners were Parker Ramirez 7th, Dawson Adams 12th & Ryan Klemz 18th. Hayden XC Boys JV took 1st Place out of 10 teams placing 4 in the top 10:  James Gillin, Blake Masters, Ethan Emmons & Jack Dunshee

 

  • Congratulations to the Hayden Girls Golf team for placing 3rd at league yesterday!  Sammy Blenden placed 18th overall, Katye Vausbinder finished in 7th, and Caroline Setter finished 3rd.  Great job, Ladies!!

 

  • There will be a meeting for any girls that are going out for softball this Thursday, October 5th, immediately after school. The meeting will be held in the Computer Lab and will be very brief. If you are planning to play softball, you need to be there.
