The Hayden Forensics team had a great opening weekend of competition. We placed 3rd overall as a squad, had 11 event breaks and 1 state qualification. Congratulations to Marcel Pryor for his state qualifying Informative Speech. Students breaking into the final round included Rachel Grollmes, Maesey Meier, Ann Stegman, James Nioce, Cade Dennis, Addie Sutton, Alexa Scheer and Jack Ossello. A special shout out to two new team members, Emma Tepley and Gloria Organista, for attending the first tournament of the year. Our next tournament is in Emporia this weekend.


Outside date forms for the Winter Sports Dance can be picked up in the office or from Ms. Herman. They are due to Mr. Tush by noon on February 6.  Any questions, please see Ms. Herman.


Congratulations to the Chess Team for a successful tournament in Kansas City at Rockhurst High School. Graidon Nichol took a medal for 17th place with 3.5 points, William Sevy scored 2.5 points, and Sean McConnell and Emilio Gutierrez finished with 2 points each. The squad finished in 6th place with 10 total points.


The Italy and Greece travel group are going to be selling last chance boxes of treats tomorrow in the foyer after school for $5 dollars a box with mixed assortments of chocolates.  Thanks for your support!
