Monday, April 15 – A Day

Today is the last day for the sophomore book drive. Collection boxes are in all religion classrooms. Thanks for your help!

History was made this past weekend at the Flint Hills NSDA National Qualifying Tournament where the Hayden Forensics team qualified three events for the first time ever. Senior partners Cade Dennis and James Nioce presented “Spiderman 3” and sophomore partners Ann Stegman and Emma Teply presented “She Kills Monsters”. They finished one and two as Hayden took both qualifying spots in Duo Interpretation. Sophomore Marcel Pryor took first place qualifying for nationals with his Informative speech titled “Infinity”. Rounding out our national contingent is senior Alexa Scheer who was selected by the Flint Hills committee to represent our district in World Schools Debate. The NSDA National Tournament will be held in Dallas in June.

Congratulations to Hayden Thespians who have been chosen to present a Shakespeare revue, “I 💖 W.S.”, on the Freestyle Stage at the International Thespian Festival in June. This will be the fifth time in six years that Hayden High School has been invited to perform at the national festival.

There will be another opportunity to try out for next year’s Hayden Cheer team. The clinic will be Thursday and Friday, April 18 & 19th. Tryout packets can be picked up in room 310.

Do you like to sing? Come audition for Hayden Singers on Friday, May 3 and Friday, May 10 from 3:00-6:00 pm in Wildcat Hall. Please prepare a short song and bring the music for the accompanist. For questions, please contact Mrs. Brogren.

We will not have a rosary tomorrow tomorrow morning.
