Winter Sports week will begin on Monday. The theme this year is “Elements of Winter”. Remember, if you choose not to participate in the daily theme, you will need to wear your school uniform. Monday is a remote flex day and we will see students in person on Tuesday for an A Day.

Wednesday 2/24 – FLUORINE (F): Today it stands for FAMILY vacation. Dress as a tourist or wear appropriate vacation attire from your favorite family vacation.

Thursday 2/25 – HELIUM (He): Today is our Lenten Mass so raise your voices high for Jesus, just like helium does. Remember to look sharp in your pants, white shirts, ties, belts and quarter zip jackets.

Friday 2/26 – GOLD (Au): Go for the gold as we celebrate Wildcat Wars and dress according to the theme of your community for our pep assembly and rally to celebrate winter sports!

Congratulations to Will DeVader and Clayton Stephenson for placing at the Regional Tournament. Will placed 2nd and Clayton placed 3rd.  The boys will compete Saturday in Chanute for a chance to advance to the State Wrestling Tournament!

Congratulations to Scholars Bowl members Nick Quaney, Kat Herink, Sean McConnell, Ryan Wurtz, Cole Scheer and alternates Nicole DeAgostino, Michael Gentry, and Chris Burroughs for their 3rd place finish at this year’s 4A State competition. Well done Wildcats!

Junction City Bowling Meet results:  Boys varsity – Chris Burroughs placed 3rd in the meet and Braden Allphin placed 10th.  The varsity boys shot 2246 series.  Varsity girls were paced with Kayla Simons placing 2nd and Isabella Valdivia placed 7th.  The varsity girls had a team score of 1949, another new high for them.  JV boys – Derek Collins placed 3rd and Ryan Rockers placed 2nd.  JV girls – Kinsley Reynoso placed 4th and Anna Gaito placed 2nd in the meet. Nice job Wildcats!

Congratulations to the Girls and Boys Bowling Teams. The varsity boys hit a new high series wise with a 2360 series. Aaron Thomas won the meet with a 715 series and Brady McGivern placed 5th with a 557 series.
Hayden JV boys also dominated the meet with Tyler Broxterman winning the JV meet. Ryan Rockers placed 2nd, Derek Collins placed 3rd, and Logan Crow placed 4th.
Varsity girls had an awesome day as well. Abby Dodd won the meet with a 510 series. Kayla Simons placed 2nd in the meet with a 509 series. The varsity girls upped their top series at the meet. At the Emporia meet they shot a 1800 which at that time was their top series of the season to shooting 1877 at this meet. New high for the season.
JV girls did well too. Grace Evans placed 4th and and Anna Gaito placed 5th in the meet. Nice job Wildcats!!

We will not have school tomorrow or Monday. We will see everyone on campus Tuesday, February 17  for an A Day.
