Tomorrow is National Speech and Debate Education Day, which celebrates teachers, coaches, and students that participate in speech and debate activities. Be sure to check out our slideshow during lunch this week! Every summer the National Speech and Debate Association holds its national tournament. Did you know that Hayden is currently in its longest streak of sending students to nationals? Qualifying students each consecutive year since 2015?

 

Tomorrow we will have a dress down day to support Lupita, her family, and her fiancee, Cervando’s family, with transport and funeral costs. You may wear jeans for $2 and a Hayden shirt for $2. Remember no sweats, leggings, or jeans with rips/holes, and shirts need to represent Hayden.

 

Tomorrow’s lunch will be Cheese Quesadillas, Rice, Refried Beans, Chips & Salsa, Fruit & Veggie Bar.

Congratulations to Regional Mock Trial members Adriana Baker, Alejandro Calderon, Thomas Doyle, Bella Eisenbarth, Sean McConnell, and Stephen Moore, who competed last Saturday in the regional mock trial competition held in Olathe, Kansas, at the Johnson County Courthouse. The team finished 3rd at regionals to advance to the State competition on March 28! Well done!

At Friday’s State Meet Hudson Ramirez placed 23rd in the 200free & 500free and the relay team of Hudson Ramirez, Colton O’Bray, Rhett Jay and Sam Gatschet placed 20th in the 400freestyle relay. What a great way to wrap up the season! Congratulations boys!!
