It is recommended that all students take the ACT. Most Kansas colleges do not require the Writing portion of the ACT test, but we recommend that you check with the colleges you are considering to understand their requirements.
Students who are contemplating colleges out of state should also take the SAT. Again, you should check with the individual colleges for individual requirements.
For test dates and to register for the ACT please go the ACT website.

How many times should I take the ACT?
All juniors should take the December ACT. This will give you insight into areas that you may need to improve on. Overall, we recommend that students take the test two or more times. Approximately 80% of our past students have increased their score by retaking the test.
It is recommended that students take an ACT Prep course. Prep courses will help students gain insights into the test's content and format. They also learn test-taking strategies as well as specific strategies for the sub-tests.
A semester course is offered during the school day that students may take as a non-credit elective course selection.
We also offer an ACT Test Prep class. It is scheduled the week prior to a test date, two nights a week. This course is facilitated by an outside instructor.
